​Most private utility locating companies are only using electromagnetic induction (EM) equipment to find and mark these utilities.

Standard EM locating equipment is great for locating most telecom, electrical, and gas lines but it has many limitations; especially non-metallic lines or non-conductive lines.

Other problems with EM locating includes sites where multiple lines are laid next to one another causing the target signal to "bleed" onto non-target lines and sites where other buried structures such as underground storage tanks, septic tanks and old piping may be buried.

This includes: gas, electric, telecom, fiber optic cables, water lines (both plastic and metallic), storm and sewer systems, irrigation and septic systems and underground storage tanks.

GeoSearch Services, LLC uses Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Electromagnetic Induction (EM) equipment to perform private utility locating and investigation services for a wide array of applications: environmental, structural and civil engineering, geology and geotechnical, cemetery and gravesite mapping, forensic science, mining and mineral exploration and agriculture. 

GeoSearch Services, LLC was founded by Brent Baumann, a Geologist with over 20 years of combined experience in different geological disciplines. Mr. Baumann has worked primarily in the environmental and geotechnical industries as well as in both open pit and underground mines, gaining invaluable experience in sub-surface investigation and rock and soil characteristics and mechanics.  He brings this experience, together with his experience in telecom utility locating, to offer professional GPR and utility locating services and to the Rocky Mountain NW.
